ARCTIC TERN by SUE BEST
This image just emphasises the truth that to take great wildlife photography you need to be there, be patient and have the skill to capture the shot. Sue got it all right on this image. From the head to tail, the Artic Tern is well focused, including the catchlight in the eye. But the most pleasing aspect is the diffused light through the feathers…. well captured without burn-out. I may have been the first to say ‘but the tips of the wings are out of the frame’, but not on this occasion. The strength of this image, and the difficulty to achieve this wildlife image, far outweighs any minor issues. Well done, Sue!
