Tony Speight is a photographer of many talents - not only is he a successful commercial photographer who also lectures in photography (including at Craven College), he even finds time to take his own photographs for pleasure. Tonight we will be treated to a mix of images taken "at work - - and at leisure".
July and August sessions will both be practical sessions with your cameras. If weather is favourable, both will be outside, but we have planned for inside activity in case. The gallery will be viewed on 20 July if wet or on 17 August, wet or dry. Please upload gallery images by 20/07. Both sessions will end at Townhead Court for drinks/gallery.
For both sessions members will be grouped with leaders, dependent on numbers. Leaders will help those who wish to understand their cameras better as needed. Bring wide/standard/macro lenses + Flash and tripod as available. The Project theme will be "Settle in Close-up", designed to encourage pictures of the finer detailed aspects around Settle rather than whole street views and taken using Portrait format for creative effect.
Gallery - "Work and Leisure".
Informal competition - judging by members as December last year. Any subject, but picture must have been taken in 2015. UP TO TWO A4 PRINTS EACH. Collect mounts on 17 August if you wish to use them.
Gallery - "Settle in Close-up".
A talk about the key camera controls - with practical comments by members with photo examples.
Gallery - "Red"
All things nature - from birds in flight to macro!
Margaret [EFIAP/gold, FBPE EPSA] and John [EFIAP/gold, BPE5*, EPSA] Sixsmith are keen naturalists and amateur photographers who lecture widely on nature photography throughout the country. Living on the Wirral, they have both exhibited internationally and had work published in magazines and books. They tutor at residential courses in Scotland, one of which has been attend in '14 & '15 by Adrian & Sue Binney.
A discussion of some of the techniques to get our photos better without the need to spend ages in front of a computer - or for those who don't use Photoshop etc, to improve their output from a better understanding of cameras.
Gallery - "It's Nature".
Several members will talk about and demonstrate their approach to creative photography, either in camera or in Photoshop.
A talk by Steve Finch.
Steve gave a very interesting Portraiture talk in Oct'13 - this time we have asked him to give tips to help us with our Christmas family/party photos!
No Gallery. Instead we will have our Xmas party - a 'Jacob's Join' finger buffet.
